When you do not know the exact location of Agriturismo Libero or do not follow the instructions precisely, you will just pass by the bumpy, unpaved road, as many others have done before you.
The road to the house is a challenge for its traveler. Curious people who attempt it, usually turn back halfway because they think it leads nowhere or that they have taken a wrong turn. This is exactly how owner Nicola intends it to be: he likes his peace and silence!
Libero is a cozy place to stay. On the top floor, the guest floor, you can find the only two rooms in the house. The fact that there is one shared bathroom is not a problem and adds to the intimate atmosphere and the warm interaction with Nicola and his Brazilian wife Mira.
Nicola inherited Libero and its grounds from his parents. He beamed with proud, when he told us about the ridiculously low price his father paid for the estate in the previous century. Incredible!
The name of the zone in which the house is located is called "La Colombara", used by the Etrusks as a lookout. Napoleon and his troops fought nearby. During the renovation, artifacts of this battle were found in the house.
Libero is an Agriturismo which is devoted to wine, as is most of the surrounding area. We have been told that there are more than 3500 wine producers in the region, represented in an excess of 5600 different labels, including Pieropan, Gini, Suavia, Bisson, Balestri Valda. These are just a few examples and are absolutely worth a try.
Soave is a busy town, with many activities. Every third sunday of the month, there is a Mercantino dell'Antiquariato, an antique market, and on the 15th, 16th and 17th of September, this year, there will be the Festa dell'Uva, the wine festival, which will be great to experience.
