A jewel in a legendary area south of Padova - that is probably the best way to describe this historical estate that has been the cherished property of the Emo Capolidlista family.

The estate La Montecchia exists of the Castle del Mottolo and adjacent houses, the 16th century Villa Capodilista - originally a hunting lodge - and L'Azienda Agricola, the agrarian company that has been producing wine quite successfully. It can thus get pretty busy here during harvest time and it is nice to be a part of that.
The current count Umberto Emo Capodilista, who is in charge of the estate these days, has restored some houses as well as a wing of the castle and opened it up for guests.

One of these houses being La Casa del Prete, named after the priest that lived here up to recently, with a garden full of oleander bushes that provide a colourful scenery when they blossom in summer.
There is La Casa di Nando, named after the last farmer that lived here and who, of course, helped cultivate the land. Last but not least there is La Casa di Maria.
All three have been decorated with different characteristics but all do have a very well fitted kitchen. It was a conscious choice to put in a dish washer, an oven and a laundry machine instead of a television, phone or Internet.

La camera nel Castello - the room in the Castle - is a very luxurious bed & breakfast suite, perfect for guests that intend to be pampered in a unique location.

Practically next to the estate is the 18-holes golf course La Montecchia. Even the pool of the golf course is open for the count's guests and this four days a week.
Not in the mood for golf or swimming? The cultural 'mecca' of Venezia, Vicenza and Verona are all close by, but fortunately far enough not to disturb the silence and peace on the estate.
