Valbruna Inn
In 1999, a group of friends decided to buy the Keil pension, saving it from down-fall. Together they have substantially renovated the 150 year old premises according to local tradition: no costs nor effort were spared. In the end, all hard work was rewarded when the Valbruna Inn opened in 2002.
Valbruna Inn lies in the tiny village of Valbruna in the most northern part of Italy, on the Austrian-Slovenian border. This forgotten piece of Italy, far away from everything, is especially desirable for sports and nature lovers. There is no sport you couldn't do in this mountainous environment. Mountain biking, horseback riding, paragliding, skiing, snowbording, walking but also golf, surfing or rafting just across the border of Slovenia, it's all possible here. And what could be nicer than a divine sauna at the hotel after such a sportsmanlike effort!
The lounge with superb easy-chairs and a fire place, is filled with old, new and rare books in Italian, German and English - not forgetting the foreign guests - on mountaneering, skiing, plants and animals, as well as history books and books on culture or cuisine of the region.
